Counselling and psychotherapy provides the client with an opportunity to be heard and met at a deep level that may not be available in their daily lives. The client can experience a sense of safety, acceptance and connection while they explore their troubles and find ways to move beyond the barriers that have presented in their lives. The client can develop life-tools such as emotional awareness and resilience, which can facilitate greater meaning and stabilization in their life

Therapeutic Interventions Offered: are Humanistic and Client-Centered at all times because clients are unique and so must their treatment be

Counselling: to address specific areas of concern and assist with decision-making, setting goals and an improved sense of wellbeing

Psychotherapy: to facilitate self-awareness and insight regarding how a person’s life journey can influence emotions and the quality of the here and now experience. Psychotherapy can also assist with the release of unconscious thoughts and beliefs that drive behaviour and may no longer provide adaptive ways of coping with life

Psychodynamic Interventions: to access the unconscious and understand blocked emotions via Gestalt Focusing, Dream Analysis, Guided Visualisation, Mindfulness Meditation, Narrative Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).

Professional Supervision: is a requirement Australian counselling associations have for their members, to ensure client safety and best practice outcomes. I offer a person-centred, collegial and integrative supervisory service, aimed at providing support, case conceptualization and feedback to supervisees to further develop their skills, competence and critical thinking.

Couple Therapy: is a complex and dynamic process for couples to engage in and requires a high level of skill and training on behalf of the therapist facilitating the service. I have post graduate specialized training in couple therapy and invest in ongoing professional development training and supervision groups to ensure my couples are receiving evidenced based therapy. My framework when working with couples is client centred, attachment and systems oriented, trauma informed and draws from a variety of theories, including Susan Johnson’s Emotion Focused Therapy and John and Julie Gottman’s relationship model.
