How long will I need therapy?
The number of sessions could range anywhere between 6–12 for more specific and targeted concerns. For work involving more complex or life-long issues the therapy may necessitate deeper exploration and hence an additional time commitment. The client is always in control of when they desire to cease therapy.
How much does it cost?
$150 – 60 minute session for adults or adolescents.
$165 – 60 minute professional individual supervision service.
$195 – 60 minute session for couples.
What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Counselling is generally focused at more short-term therapy to address specific areas of concern, decision-making and an improved sense of wellbeing. Psychotherapy tends to be longer-term and focused on the client’s unconscious beliefs, drives and motivations with an aim to facilitate self-awareness and clarity on how your life journey influences your emotions and the quality of your here and now experience.
Is what I tell Jacqueline confidential?
Yes, as a practicing psychotherapist, counsellor and member of PACFA, ACA and MCEFT I am bound by a code of ethics pertaining to the client’s right to expect confidentiality regarding their sessions. The only exception to this code is in the event of a situation or information being presented by the client during a session that would lead me to believe there is significant risk of physical harm being perpetrated by the client to self or others. This would be a last resort and I would always endeavour to work with my client to achieve an outcome that preserves the wellbeing of all concerned.
